Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it visibly. Material errors — a wrong fact, figure, or attribution — are corrected in the story with a dated correction note at the bottom. Minor errors such as typos and formatting are fixed without a note. A published story is never quietly rewritten to erase a mistake.
Report an error
Write to corrections@parasocialmagazine.com. Include the story link and what you believe is wrong. If you have figures of your own, send them; they are treated as evidence worth reconciling against ours, not as a competing claim to be dismissed.
What happens to it
- Acknowledged within two business days, with a reference.
- Reviewed against the record — the story as published, its sources, and its correction history. Review is against what we actually published, not a re-run against today’s information.
- Answered within ten business days with one of three outcomes: no change, with the reasoning and the sourcing the claim rests on; a correction, published with a dated note on the story; or referred, where the question is about a standard rather than its application, in which case it is answered on our Editorial Standards page rather than case by case.
If you believe the issue will affect something we are about to publish, say so, and we will look at it before then even where the full answer takes longer. Stopping an error recurring and explaining it are different jobs, and the first should not wait for the second.
A correction request never disappears. If it results in no change, the reasoning is on the record and can be re-opened with new evidence. If it results in a correction, the correction is public.
Chart corrections
Disputes about a chart position, an exclusion, or an absence go to the same address and run on the same two-day and ten-day commitments. A published chart edition is never edited in place: a correction is published as a new version with a public note, and the superseded version is retained in full.
